Celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year, the Fix Scholarship is a non-profit that offers opportunities, in the form of bursaries; scholarships and learnerships, to female social innovators who pursue conscious leadership and entrepreneurial solutions for social development challenges.
The Fix Scholarship is the brainchild of former Radio Personality and Social Entrepreneur – Fikile Moeti known to her audience as DJ Fix.
Since 2012, the Fix Scholarship has remained true to its belief in giving women power through education, mentorship and leadership, which is evident with the current Alumni of over 20 Fix Scholars.
In its 10 year journey, the flagship programme continues its mission providing female social entrepreneurs the opportunity to complete the Gordon Institute of Business Science’ (GIBS) Social Entrepreneurship course.
In addition to assisting entrepreneurs to make impactful social and economic change, the scholarship will celebrate the 10 year anniversary by finally documenting the enterprise’s efforts over the past 10 years and publish the profiles of trailblazing women that have made the scholarship all that it is today. This will be published as a coffee table book to inspire conscious leadership on the African continent.
Since March 2020, The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the need and attention to women in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic sectors. The Fix Scholarship Programme calls all female social innovators – that have an enterprise or idea with a social purpose to drive positive change – to apply for the 2022 scholarship. Candidates should be female leading social innovators in tech, and problem solvers who understand that income accompanies impact.
Fix says: “10 Years of the Fix Scholarship is a tremendous milestone for us where we have managed to survive under a pandemic and adapt to the needs of our entrepreneurs. Our goal is to maintain our partnerships between us and tech giants at the forefront, and provide social innovators with the skills to not only exist, but thrive in a rapidly changing digital space.
